Dublin City. A photowalk at Night during Christmas.
by Jason Mac Cormac Photography
Dublin glittering with the lights of Christmas, the merriment of revellers heading from pub to pub, and the shuffling of feet of the last minute shoppers. A wonderful time for a night time photo walk through the main shopping and tourist streets.
Starting at St Stephens Green and the newly completed Luas lines, I make my way to glittering Grafton street and Brown Thomas store.
Next stop Suffolk Street to see the Molly Malone statue and O'Neills pub in it's magnificent Victorian building, a quick stop at the Bankers pub and Dame lane.
Headed on to College Green, pity the hoarding is still on the courtyard of bank building but great to see the roadworks complete and the traffic flowing, this must be the busiest junction in the city now. How they think trams, traffic buses taxis cyclist and pedestrians can coexist is beyond me, reminds me of the original red cow when luas started it wasn't long before changes were made, sadly I think the same will be true here.
For my last stop no night time photowalk of Dublin would be complete without visiting Temple bar area. Tuesday and the place was heaving, I took a few images of Temple bar pub and it's neighbour St John Gogartys then headed for home leaving the craic agus ceoil behind.
What a great evening for a walk with the camera, and some nice images too. All images are available to purchase as prints or to license. Contact me be email or phone to discuss.
